It seems like the Australian public has gone mad at the news that Gangland killer Carl Williams has been bashed to death inside a high-security prison in Victoria. Thousands of users tweeted and updated their Facebook Statuses across the nation, many of them offering thoughts of condolences or messages of love. You may find yourself asking why people are laying adoration upon a convicted murderer and friends I have on answer for you; Australian Television.

Let me give those of you from overseas a quick rundown on the situation. In the late 90’s there was a string of Gangland murders in Melbourne. Mr. Williams was responsible for three of those murders and failed conspiracy to murder a fourth. Along with those charges he was also a convicted drug trafficker. Now here in Australia they thought it would be a great idea to base a television series called Underbelly on all of this criminal activity during the Gangland War. All the characters names are the same, many of them are still living in real life.

Now as many would know, even in movies it is always stated that the movie or television series is “Based on a true story”. That basically gives the director the right to change it around to make a good film or good television. Now see the show portrayed this guy as a decent person, and as a direct response it turns out that thousands of people across the internet actually believe it! Well done, one of our national icons was a bushranger, and now one of our respected celebrities is a drug trafficking murderer.

But I guess they don’t get Channel 9 in prison….maybe if the inmates were fans of the show they would have liked him too.

Run Tony Run!

Run Tony Run! That’s right ladies and gentlemen, now the fun loving criminal has been extradited from his safe haven in Greece, his lawyers are claiming that he cannot get a fair trial in Australia due to comments made by Victoria’s former premier at the time, Steve Bracks…

Lawyer Mirko Bagaric says Mokbel’s chance of a fair trial has been severely diminished, not just because of the amount of media coverage but because of the source of the prejudicial material.

“When Tony was actually firstly apprehended, the then premier Steve Bracks come out and said that Victorians should be happy about that because underworld crime has now been solved in Victoria,” he said.

….

……..

Murder…..Drug Trafficing………..I seriously doubt that Steve Bracks comments have anything to do with a fair trial, but his lawyer may be onto something here, and there is a chance that Mokbel could have his trial in his homeland of Lebanon

Kids Killing Kids

A gang of youths, aged between 14 and 17 chased a teenage schoolboy and stabbed him to death in front of the public passing by in a suburban Londan street in England.

Kodjo Yenga was only 16, and he was ambushed by over a dozen youths, including two girls, who were armed with bats, knives and a bull-terrier dog. The gang were laughing, and smiling as they beat the 16 year old, and eventually stabbed him to death.

Reports indicated that Yenga died from a single stab wound to the heart. A woman who was pushing her child in a pram witnessed the attack, and reported they were smiling and laughing.

Apparently the youths were representing their gang MDP, who usually start a one on one fight with someone out of town and then ambush them, unfortunately this time it ended in murder.

It’s pretty sad that kids are killing kids these days, I doubt this kind of behaviour would have been around twenty years ago

Geek Killer

A Melbourne “Computer Geek” who stabbed to deat a work colleague after robbing her has been jailed for 19 years

19 years? Let’s just get the facts right. The killer stabbed his work colleague 66 times, stuffed the body in the boot of her own car, and robber her of $9000 to spend at Crown Casino and he only got 19 years of jail time, with parole in 14

What is wrong with society? This guy has stabbed someone 66 times to death, and due to a gambling problem and depression, this guy has seemed to get off light with only 19 years of jail time?

It’s scary to think that I could be here at work and get killed by someone jsut because they are an alcoholic, not right if you ask me
